On March 11, a large-scale solid-state hydrogen storage vessel, pre-filled with hydrogen, was successfully loaded and dispatched from Shanghai Waigaoqiao Port Area. This milestone marks the world’s first seaborne export of such equipment in a hydrogen-loaded state. The vessel employs independently developed magnesium-based solid-state hydrogen storage materials and cutting-edge hydrogen absorption/desorption control technology, allowing for safe and efficient hydrogen storage and transportation under standard temperature and pressure conditions. With a single-tank capacity of storing up to 1 ton of hydrogen and an impressive cycle life exceeding 3,000 charge-discharge cycles, the system ensures both high safety standards and exceptional storage/transportation efficiency. This achievement represents a significant leap forward in China’s solid-state hydrogen storage technology, particularly within the realm of hydrogen energy storage and transportation.
