The work report of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) has outlined three primary focal points for this year's legislative endeavors. Firstly, to bolster equitable justice, there are plans to enact the Procuratorial Public Interest Litigation Law and revise key statutes such as the Criminal Procedure Law. Secondly, to propel national anti-corruption efforts forward, China is set to formulate the Anti-Cross-Border Corruption Law. Thirdly, to reinforce ecological and environmental safeguards, the country will introduce the Antarctic Activities and Environmental Protection Law and amend other relevant laws like the Water Law. Moreover, legislative research in burgeoning fields such as artificial intelligence will be intensified to support the implementation of significant reform measures.
