On March 9, during the second plenary session of the Fourth Meeting of the 14th National People's Congress in Beijing, Zhang Jun, President of the Supreme People's Court, presented a comprehensive work report. The report highlighted that in 2025, the Supreme People's Court played a pivotal role in addressing 'involutionary' competition—a term referring to intense and often unproductive rivalry. The court bolstered its judicial actions against monopolistic practices and unfair competition, pinpointing 27 monopoly cases over the course of the year. Notably, it presided over the 'either-or' dispute involving two prominent e-commerce entities, steering both parties towards a path of interconnection and mutual benefit, thereby fostering a conducive environment for boosting consumer spending.
