On the 5th, Asha Sharma, the newly appointed head of Microsoft’s Xbox division, announced that the company is currently engaged in internal discussions regarding its next-generation Xbox console, codenamed 'Project Helix.' This upcoming console promises exceptional performance, seamlessly supporting both Xbox and PC games. Further details about 'Project Helix' are expected to be revealed at the upcoming Game Developers Conference (GDC) next week. Earlier, AMD CEO Lisa Su disclosed that both the next-gen Xbox and Steam Machine will incorporate AMD chip solutions, with development progressing smoothly. Microsoft has set a target release date of 2027 for its next-gen Xbox, while Valve plans to introduce a box-shaped device running SteamOS in early 2026. The former head of the Xbox division previously stated that the next-gen console would be a purely 'first-party' hardware offering. Given the typical hardware update cycle, it is anticipated to hit the market between 2027 and 2028.
