Recently, the Fujian Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, along with four other departments, unveiled the 'Action Plan for the Development of the Electric Ship Industry in Fujian Province (2026-2028)'. This strategic blueprint sets the goal of constructing a comprehensive supply framework for electric ships and their core components by 2028. The target includes achieving an annual production capacity of 50 electric ships and amassing a total operational fleet of 150 ships, with 20 of these vessels designated for deployment beyond the provincial boundaries and internationally. The plan also envisions the utilization of core equipment in over 1,500 electric ships, both domestically and on the global stage, with the entire industry chain expanding to a value of RMB 5 billion. Furthermore, the initiative aims to nurture industry-leading enterprises that span the entire electric ship industry chain, cultivate companies with a global footprint, enhance integrated service capabilities across the chain, bolster the development of modern shipbuilding hubs and R&D centers, propel the modernization of the industry chain, and promote the growth of specialized, sophisticated, and innovative 'little giant' enterprises, as well as single-product champion firms.
