In his proposal, Ma Yongsheng, who is both a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, put forward the idea of coordinating the integration of technology and industry within the hydrogen energy industrial chain to foster its large-scale and high-quality development. Presently, China's hydrogen energy industry leads the world in terms of scale, with an anticipated production volume exceeding 37 million tons by 2025 and green hydrogen capacity reaching over 250,000 tons annually. Its applications are also progressively infiltrating into industries with high energy consumption. Nevertheless, the shift towards large-scale development of hydrogen energy is still hindered by challenges, including inadequate storage and transportation capabilities, outdated supporting infrastructure, inefficient electricity-hydrogen coupling, and the 'islandization' phenomenon within the industrial chain. To tackle these obstacles, Ma Yongsheng put forward three suggestions: firstly, to reinforce top-level design for the establishment of a national hydrogen energy infrastructure network; secondly, to deepen electricity-hydrogen coupling and give priority to ensuring that surplus electricity can access the grid; thirdly, to advance the profound integration of technological innovation and industrial innovation.
