On March 4 at 11:00 a.m. local time (10:00 a.m. Beijing Time), Japan’s commercial space company, Space One, initially intended to launch the third Kairos rocket from the Kii Space Launch Site. However, the rocket failed to take off as scheduled, leading to the launch being aborted. The rocket was subjected to an emergency stop—urgently halted—just 30 seconds into the countdown due to the activation of the safety system. Notably, no malfunctions were detected in the rocket body. The Kairos rocket, which employs a four-stage tandem configuration, had previously encountered failures in two launch attempts in March and December 2024. Established in 2018, Space One is jointly funded by companies such as Canon Electronics and IHI Aerospace.
