Together, they have engineered a fluorine-based gel polymer electrolyte that adeptly curbs dendrite formation. This innovation substantially elevates both the longevity and safety of the batteries. Lithium metal batteries are renowned for their energy density, which surpasses that of conventional NCA lithium batteries by over 1.6 times. However, their path to commercialization had been obstructed by limited charge-discharge cycle lifespans. This breakthrough, though, holds the potential to clear the way for their widespread adoption in the market.
