Take CATL as an example; it has rolled out the first sodium-ion battery produced on a large scale for the light commercial vehicle market. Meanwhile, ZhenNa Energy has started operations at its sodium ferrous sulfate cathode material base, which has a capacity of 10,000 tonnes. This move is set to expedite the implementation of the entire industry chain.

Industry experts are of the opinion that with the enhancement of the industrial chain and cost optimization efforts, sodium-ion batteries are now primed for large-scale commercial rollout. They are poised to make inroads into multiple application scenarios. It is anticipated that these batteries will either replace or complement lead-acid batteries and certain types of lithium batteries.
