Three Major A-Share Indices Kick Off on a High Note, Photovoltaic Sector Soars

On January 26, 2026, the three major A-share indices—the Shanghai Composite Index, the Shenzhen Component Index, and the ChiNext Index—all opened with upward momentum. The Shanghai Composite Index stood at 4,144.78 points, marking a 0.21% increase; the Shenzhen Component Index reached 14,492.42 points, up by 0.37%; and the ChiNext Index climbed to 3,365.61 points, a 0.48% rise.

The photovoltaic sector witnessed a remarkable surge. Junda Co., Ltd. and Mingyang Smart Energy both soared to their daily price limits, while Maiwei Co., Ltd. saw its share price jump by over 9%, and Trina Solar's stock rose by more than 5%.

The precious metals sector also performed strongly, with Hunan Gold shooting straight up to its daily limit and Sichuan Gold's share price increasing by over 6%.

On the flip side, the semiconductor and cultivated diamond sectors faced significant declines, with UniMicron Technology Co., Ltd. hitting the daily lower limit.
