Recently, the first phase of the 100 MW/200 MWh sodium-ion battery energy storage station demonstration project in Honghu City, which is being undertaken by PowerChina, has successfully cleared the completion inspection. This marks a significant milestone for the largest sodium-ion battery energy storage station currently under construction in China. As one of the initial batch of new energy storage pilot demonstration projects in Hubei Province, the first phase of this project boasts an impressive energy storage capacity of 50 MW/100 MWh. The project encompasses the construction of a brand-new 50 MW 110 kV booster station, as well as a 110 kV transmission line that will connect to the existing 110 kV Maojiang Substation.
