On January 23, reports indicated that the China Air Transport Association (CATA) made an announcement on the same day. Guided by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), CATA is currently coordinating with airlines to formulate a collective standard named "Rules for Seat Reservation on Flights by Public Air Transport Enterprises." This standard is designed to offer guidance to airlines in standardizing their seat reservation procedures and catering to the varied seating preferences of passengers. The draft standard will cover crucial elements including the categories, extent, and ratios of reserved seats, along with the communication of passenger details. A public consultation period regarding the standard is set to begin soon.
