China has successfully completed deep-sea application verifications for various types of marine biogeochemical in-situ sensors, which were developed independently. These verifications spanned multiple platforms and scenarios. Headed by Wu Guojun's development team from the Xi'an Institute of Optics and Precision Mechanics at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, these sensors have enabled high-resolution mobile observations in the deep sea. This breakthrough marks an end to China's long-standing dependence on imported equipment for deep-sea mobile observations and offers vital support for marine research endeavors and pivotal deep-sea missions.
