On January 12, 2026, the domestically-manufactured large aircraft, the C919, embarked on its maiden voyage along the Guangzhou-Nanjing round-trip route. This historic flight utilized China's inaugural C919 aircraft, adorned with the special livery for the 15th National Games and christened 'Magnificent Bay Area.' Following a seamless landing at Nanjing Lukou International Airport, the aircraft was greeted with a celebratory 'water arch' salute, signifying yet another milestone in the expansion of the C919's route network. Starting from that day, China Southern Airlines will incorporate the C919 into its regular operations on this route, offering two round-trips daily. This move will establish a high-frequency schedule, with a total of eight daily flights connecting Guangzhou and Nanjing.
