Recently, the research team led by Professor He Zikai from the School of Science, Frontier Institute of Technology at Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen) has made remarkable strides in the development of organic light-emitting diode (OLED) materials. Their groundbreaking work has been featured in the prestigious international journal, Angewandte Chemie International Edition.
The team has introduced novel strategies for designing and synthesizing highly efficient circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) materials, as well as effective deep-blue OLED materials. For CPL materials, they ingeniously employed dibenzofuran to construct rigidly linked dibenzofuran molecules, resulting in highly asymmetric circularly polarized organic room-temperature phosphorescence. The achieved asymmetry factor is notably high at 0.12, with a phosphorescence quantum efficiency of 15% and a lifetime of 0.56 seconds. These innovative materials hold great promise for applications in optical sensing and covert anti-counterfeiting measures.
In the realm of deep-blue OLED materials, the team's molecular design has enabled efficient deep-blue emission, offering a promising new material choice for advancing OLED display technology.
