On January 6th, Beijing played host to the inaugural meeting of the Working Group for the Promotion and Application of Rare Earth Steel. This working group is dedicated to harnessing the collective prowess of all stakeholders within the industrial chain, with the overarching goal of fostering technological innovation and facilitating the widespread adoption of rare earth steel.

To achieve this, the group has set up two specialized working subgroups: one focuses on rare earth steel applications in engineering equipment, while the other centers on its use in building structures. Inner Mongolia Baotou Steel Union Co., Ltd. and Shanghai University have been designated as the lead entities for these respective subgroups. The membership roster is a diverse one, encompassing government departments, steel manufacturers, rare earth companies, academic institutions, research organizations, and more, all united in their pursuit of advancing rare earth steel technology and applications.
