On December 19, the WeChat official account of the "Nanjing Satellite Navigation Association" published an article that delved into a technical discussion and analysis of the abnormal navigation signals experienced in the Nanjing region on December 17. The article highlighted that the main culprit behind the navigation failure was the transient interference and suppression of GNSS satellite signals, encompassing both Beidou and GPS systems, rather than a mere network signal outage. Consequently, downloading offline maps proved to be of minimal assistance. This interference was specifically directed at the civilian frequency bands of Beidou and GPS, effectively preventing the positioning signals from being recognized by receivers. Even when devices were equipped with offline maps, they still suffered from positioning drift and a lack of data feedback due to the absence of a reliable positional data source, thereby making effective navigation unattainable.
