Yesterday, the Beijing Aero Engine Maintenance Project officially kicked off its operations in the Tianzhu Comprehensive Bonded Zone, which is situated within the Airport Economic Zone of Capital Airport. This development stands as a notable leap forward in China's high-end aero engine maintenance industry. The project is managed by Beijing Aero Engine Services Limited (BAESL), a joint venture with equal ownership (50% each) between Air China and Rolls-Royce plc of the UK. This marks Rolls-Royce's fourth global joint venture and the inaugural one of its nature in mainland China, specifically for engine maintenance. The project is set to bridge the gap in mainland China's high-thrust aero engine maintenance domain, thereby bolstering the self-maintenance capabilities and safety standards of the civil aviation industry chain.
