During the weekend, Musk took to the social media platform X to share his ambitious plan of launching a staggering 1 million tons of AI satellites into orbit every year. This move is part of his broader objective, previously announced, to establish 100 gigawatts of artificial intelligence capacity in space annually. Musk elaborated, "Securing a straightforward electricity supply on Earth is becoming increasingly challenging. By launching 1 million tons of satellites annually, each fitted with 100 kilowatts of power, we can augment our AI capabilities in space by 100 gigawatts each year, free from operational and maintenance burdens. These satellites will seamlessly integrate with the Starlink constellation through high-bandwidth laser connections."

One netizen pointed out the logistical feat implied by Musk's vision, noting that deploying 1 million tons of satellites would necessitate launching over 25 Starship spacecraft daily. Another user drew attention to Musk's earlier post from August, where he had mentioned that within the next 6 to 7 years, Starship spacecraft are projected to achieve more than 24 launches within a single 24-hour period, underscoring the scale and rapidity of Musk's space endeavors.
