On the 6th, American entrepreneur Musk voiced his vehement disapproval of the EU's move to levy a staggering €120 million fine on his social media platform, X, and pledged to take action against relevant senior EU officials. In a post on X, Musk described the EU's fine as utterly preposterous, stating that it penalized not only the company but also him personally. Consequently, he vowed to take action not just against the EU but also against those who were targeting him. He even went so far as to post, "The EU should be dissolved." Earlier, the U.S. government had also denounced the EU's action, viewing it as a deliberate move against American companies. U.S. President Trump cautioned that if the EU persisted in penalizing American tech firms, the U.S. would retaliate with additional tariffs on the EU. On the 5th, the European Commission issued its inaugural 'non-compliance decision' under the Digital Services Act, imposing a €120 million fine on Musk's social media platform, X.
