On December 4 (local time), all three major U.S. stock indices finished the trading session in positive territory. The Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 0.86%, the Nasdaq Composite Index edged up 0.17%, and the S&P 500 Index gained 0.3%.
The performance of large-cap tech stocks was a mixed bag. Tesla's shares surged more than 4%, while Google's stock rose over 1%. In contrast, Microsoft's shares dipped more than 2%, and both Meta and Nvidia witnessed declines exceeding 1%.
Non-ferrous metals and crypto reserve concept stocks were the frontrunners in terms of gains. Alcoa's stock soared over 6%, and both Coinbase and Kaiser Aluminum saw their shares jump more than 5%. On the flip side, storage concept stocks and lithium mining stocks faced headwinds. SanDisk's shares tumbled over 5%, and both Micron Technology and Western Digital experienced drops exceeding 2%.
