On the 20th, Elon Musk took to social media to announce that SpaceX's Starship has the potential to transport approximately 300 gigawatts' worth of solar AI satellites into orbit each year, with the production capacity potentially reaching up to 500 gigawatts. Some bloggers have pointed out that if production were to increase at a rate of 300 gigawatts annually, it would surpass the current global total electricity generation capacity (which stands at around 3.5 terawatts) within just 12 years. On the 23rd, Musk further elaborated, stating that by combining lunar manufacturing efforts with the use of a mass driver (a hypothetical electromagnetic catapult for launching payloads into space), the annual energy output could exceed an impressive 100 terawatts.
