The SpaceX Starship V2 version completed its final launch in October this year and is currently preparing for the first launch of the V3 version. In the early hours of Friday local time, the first stage of the V3 Starship, "Booster 18," suffered significant damage during a pre-launch test. The test commenced on Thursday evening at a test site located a few miles away from SpaceX's main production base in Texas. Videos circulating online show that at 4:04 AM Central Time on Friday, an explosion (or implosion) occurred in the lower half of the rocket. Post-accident images reveal severe damage to the lower part of the booster. As of the time of writing, neither SpaceX nor its founder, Musk, have commented on the incident. Additionally, the V3 version's Super Heavy booster employs a new engine configuration during landing burns and path adjustments, providing stronger redundancy.
