DHL Express has revealed that it has upgraded the cargo aircraft operating on its route from Hong Kong to Penang, Malaysia. The new addition is a Boeing 767 freighter, which boasts a larger capacity compared to the previous model. This move is set to significantly boost the company's shipping capabilities. According to DHL Express, the Boeing 767 freighter will take the place of the converted Airbus A321 freighter that was previously in use. With this change, each flight will gain an extra 20 tons of cargo capacity. This upgrade is strategically timed to cater to the growing demand for efficient cargo transportation. The demand primarily comes from technology and semiconductor companies located in the manufacturing hub of northern Malaysia. By introducing the larger-capacity aircraft, DHL Express aims to better serve these clients and ensure the smooth flow of goods in the region.
