On November 7, the 49.8-megawatt grid-side energy storage power station, operated by Zhonghe East Line New Energy in Suqian, Jiangsu Province, was officially connected to the grid and commenced operations. This marks the inauguration of Jiangsu's first regional decentralized grid-side energy storage project.
In recent years, Jiangsu has witnessed rapid development in the realm of new energy. However, in certain regions, the inadequate capacity for new energy consumption has posed challenges to grid stability. Take Suqian as an example, where the proportion of installed new energy capacity reaches approximately 80%.
The energy storage power station is strategically situated at four decommissioned substations in Siyang County. This placement effectively addresses the consumption issues associated with centralized energy storage stations and bolsters local consumption capabilities.
Innovatively, the station adopts a 'collection station + substation' communication architecture. When compared to traditional energy storage power stations, this design enables a reduction in one-time construction costs by over 10 million yuan.
