This afternoon, during the opening ceremony of the 2025 Financial Street Forum Annual Conference, Pan Gongsheng, Governor of the People's Bank of China, announced that the central bank is poised to further refine the management system of the Digital RMB. This will involve a thorough examination of its role within the monetary framework and facilitating the involvement of a broader range of commercial banks in Digital RMB business operations. Presently, the central bank has established two pivotal centers: the International Operations Center for the Digital RMB in Shanghai, which oversees cross-border collaborations and applications, and the Operations Management Center in Beijing, tasked with system development, operation, and upkeep. These initiatives are aimed at fostering the growth of the Digital RMB and bolstering Beijing's status as a national financial management hub.
