On October 3 (local time), the Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs declared the revocation of TikTok's operating license. The reason cited was TikTok's refusal to furnish complete data on user activities. Earlier, on September 16, the ministry had issued a summons to TikTok, instructing it to submit the pertinent data by September 23. Nevertheless, TikTok was unable to meet this requirement owing to its internal policies. On October 5, following TikTok's submission of the necessary data, the Indonesian government revoked the suspension of its local operating license and reinstated its operations. TikTok had earlier communicated its commitment to adhering to the laws and regulations of the countries in which it operates and to collaboratively resolving issues with the relevant authorities. With around 150 million users, Indonesia stands as TikTok's second-largest market, trailing only the United States.
