This contract, with a maximum value of $245 million, requires USAC to supply antimony metal ingots to replenish the United States' defense stockpile. Earlier, during the Trump administration, steps were taken to safeguard the supply of crucial mineral resources within the US. Antimony finds extensive applications across numerous sectors and has been identified by the Pentagon as a vulnerable point in the US industrial base. USAC, which operates the sole two antimony smelters in North America, will promptly commence fulfilling the contract using its domestic facilities. The first delivery is anticipated to take place this week.
