In recent times, a number of local banks have taken a proactive stance in issuing science and technology innovation bonds, commonly referred to as sci-tech innovation bonds. On September 19, the Bank of Qingdao successfully launched its '25 Bank of Qingdao Sci-Tech Innovation Bond', with a total value of RMB 1 billion. Following this, from September 22 to 24, Chongqing Three Gorges Bank also made its debut in the sci-tech bond market by issuing its inaugural '25 Three Gorges Bank Sci-Tech Innovation Bond 01', worth RMB 2 billion.
As of September 23, the cumulative number of sci-tech innovation bonds issued by banks this year has reached 54, with the total issuance scale soaring to RMB 271 billion. More than 30 local banks have actively participated in this wave of bond issuances, emerging as a significant driving force behind the growth and expansion of the sci-tech innovation bond market.
