An X user, referencing a recent report on rocket launch market share, highlighted that SpaceX was responsible for launching 88.5% of satellites in the second quarter. The company is also on track to come close to Musk's ambitious goal of achieving a 90% market share for the remainder of 2025. When considering the total weight launched into orbit, SpaceX accounts for a staggering 86% of the global total. In response, Musk stated that once the Starship spacecraft begins regularly transporting payloads next year, SpaceX might be able to launch as much as 95% of the world's total payload into orbit. He further noted that, despite the ongoing growth of other countries, particularly China, in the space sector, this proportion could potentially soar to 98% by 2027.
