On September 22, 2025, during the Pujiang Innovation Forum, the Science and Technology Evaluation Center under the Ministry of Science and Technology unveiled the Annual Report on the Commercialization of Scientific and Technological Achievements in China 2025. According to the report, in 2024, a total of 4,059 universities and research institutions facilitated the commercialization of scientific and technological achievements via six key approaches: technology transfer, licensing, equity investment based on valuation, as well as technology development, consultation, and service provision. The cumulative contract value soared to 226.91 billion yuan, indicating a year-on-year surge of approximately 10%. Moreover, the total number of contract items hit 661,000, with both the commercialization volume and the quantity of items demonstrating a consistent upward trajectory.
