On September 17, the Israeli Defense Ministry declared the successful completion of the development phase for the 'Iron Beam' laser-based air defense system. Engineered to neutralize threats such as rockets, mortar rounds, and unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) with remarkable cost-efficiency, this cutting-edge system is anticipated to be operational and delivered by the conclusion of the current year. The collaborative effort behind the 'Iron Beam' involved key players, notably the Defense Research and Development Directorate (DDR&D) within the Israeli Defense Ministry. Upon delivery, the inaugural batch of systems will seamlessly integrate into the Israeli military's existing air defense framework, enhancing its defensive capabilities.
