In July 2025, Maxar Technologies, a U.S. commercial satellite firm, unveiled high-resolution images of China's Yaogan-26 satellite. These images were captured by its WorldView Legion 2 remote sensing satellite, boasting an impressive resolution of up to 1.9 centimeters. The photos were taken on June 3, 2025, when the Yaogan-26 satellite had only been in orbit for half a year. At the time of the photograph, the shooting point was at its closest, approximately 29.2 kilometers away from the Yaogan-26 satellite. In a reciprocal move, China's Chang Guang Satellite also released images of the WorldView Legion 2 satellite on September 8, 2025. These photos were taken by one of its commercial remote sensing satellites from a distance ranging between 40 and 55 kilometers. The images clearly depict the main body and solar panels of the WorldView Legion 2 satellite.
