Starbucks announced on Wednesday its plan to deploy an advanced AI inventory counting system across more than 11,000 company-operated stores in North America by the close of September. Equipped with dedicated software, employees will utilize handheld tablets to scan shelves, enabling the system to automatically tally products and highlight items running low on stock. Leveraging technology from NomadGo, this innovative solution integrates 3D spatial intelligence, computer vision, and augmented reality to significantly enhance inventory management efficiency and streamline the supply chain. According to Starbucks' Chief Technology Officer, the technology has undergone rigorous testing in thousands of stores, leading to an impressive eightfold increase in inventory counting frequency.
