Cloudflare has recently unveiled that its automated defense system has successfully thwarted numerous large-scale DDoS attacks over the past few weeks. Notably, the largest of these attacks peaked at an astonishing 5.1 Bpps and 11.5 Tbps, primarily driven by a UDP flood attack originating from Google Cloud. Prior to this, in May 2025, Cloudflare had already demonstrated its prowess by mitigating an attack that peaked at 7.3 Tbps, which lasted approximately 45 seconds and totaled 37.4 TB of traffic. The assailant utilized a diverse array of tactics, including UDP flood attacks, NTP reflection attacks, and Mirai botnet traffic. Cloudflare's defense system has once again proven its resilience and effectiveness in safeguarding network security.
