This August, Northrop Grumman unveiled a conceptual drawing of the aircraft model it is proposing for the US Navy's F/A-XX sixth-generation carrier-based aircraft program. Shortly thereafter, Boeing followed suit by releasing a cryptic rendering of its own sixth-generation carrier-based fighter aircraft, designed to replace the aging F/A-18 "Super Hornet."
