Effective September 1, 2025, a suite of new regulations will come into force, prominently featuring an updated national standard for electric bicycles. This revised standard boosts the maximum weight limit for lead-acid battery models to 63 kilograms and extends their range to between 60 and 70 kilometers. However, it mandates that the maximum speed must not exceed 25 kilometers per hour, with any modifications to increase speed strictly prohibited. Furthermore, intelligent battery monitoring will be enhanced to ensure safety. Beyond electric bicycles, the new regulations encompass a range of measures, including free education for large classes in public kindergartens, adjustments to student ticket discounts on trains, and financial interest subsidies for certain consumer loans.
