On August 29, Xiaomi announced the voluntary recall of 146,891 units of its PB2030MI model power banks, commonly known as the "Xiaomi Self-contained Cable Power Bank 20000 33W". In response to the battery cell issues that prompted this recall, Xiaomi has initiated legal proceedings against the battery cell supplier, Amprius, seeking compensation for the losses incurred. This marks Xiaomi as the first original equipment manufacturer (OEM) to recall products due to unqualified battery cells and to hold the supplier accountable.
