Brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) have garnered significant attention this year as an emerging form of productivity. Earlier in the year, the National Healthcare Security Administration established a dedicated project for pricing medical services involving BCIs. In August, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, alongside six other departments, issued specialized support policies, underscoring BCIs as a pivotal area of convergence between technological and industrial innovation. Further policy support is anticipated. According to reports, several leading economic provinces across the nation are actively devising development plans in the realm of BCIs. Relevant departments in Zhejiang Province are currently researching and formulating industrial support plans, aiming to construct a BCI industrial clustering ecosystem centered around Hangzhou, fostering an environment that integrates research and development, manufacturing, and clinical applications. Furthermore, Zhejiang intends to establish a provincial key enterprise database for BCIs, encouraging businesses to cultivate specialized and distinctive features, and striving to develop iconic products to expand the application of external devices such as brain-controlled robots, dexterous hands, and exoskeletons.
