On August 28, the topic of WeChat message withdrawal times sparked widespread discussion among users. Observant netizens discovered that sending images in the form of files allowed for an extended withdrawal period of up to 3 hours. In response, Tencent Customer Service officially confirmed that currently, messages comprising voice notes, text, images, videos, business cards, locations, and shared links can be withdrawn within 2 minutes of being sent. Conversely, files sent through WeChat can be withdrawn within a grace period of 3 hours.
To withdraw a message, users simply need to long-press the sent message and select the [Withdraw] option. Upon withdrawal, both parties will receive a notification in their chat windows, and the message cannot be deleted from the chat history. It is important to note that once the specified withdrawal period has expired, the message can no longer be withdrawn.
