The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has recently published the 'Guiding Opinions on Optimizing Business Access to Promote the Development of the Satellite Communications Industry'. This initiative aims to propel the satellite communications industry towards high-quality development by the year 2030. The 'Guiding Opinions' outline plans to refine the management system, policies, and regulations governing satellite communications, optimize the industrial environment, and ignite the innovative spirit of business entities. Additionally, they emphasize significantly elevating the overall development level across infrastructure, industrial supply, technical standards, and international cooperation. The goal is to facilitate the widespread adoption of novel models, such as direct mobile phone connectivity to satellites, and to cultivate over ten million satellite communications users. To realize this ambitious target, the 'Guiding Opinions' propose 19 specific measures across six key areas: market openness, expansion of application scenarios, nurturing of the industrial ecosystem, optimization of telecommunications resources, enhancement of supervision, and collaborative promotion.
