National Energy Administration: Ten Private Firms Acquire Over 10% Equity Stakes in Five Nuclear Power Projects in First Half of Year

On August 26, Wan Jinsong, Deputy Director of the National Energy Administration, disclosed at a press conference that private enterprises in China are actively engaged in national science and technology initiatives within the energy sector. Notably, in the first four rounds of major technological equipment research and development projects in the energy field, private enterprises have participated in half of these endeavors. The private sector has been instrumental in fostering and expanding the new energy industry. Within the realm of power facility construction, private enterprises command over 85% of the market, experiencing an average annual growth rate exceeding 15%. Furthermore, private enterprises account for more than 80% of charging operation service providers that exceed a certain size. In the first six months of this year, ten private enterprises have acquired equity stakes exceeding 10% in five nuclear power projects, with the highest shareholding ratio reaching 20%.
