Didi's international food delivery platform, 99Food, has initiated legal proceedings against Meituan's overseas counterpart, Keeta, at the Sao Paulo Court in Brazil. The lawsuit alleges trademark infringement and unfair competition, specifically pointing out the striking similarity between Keeta's logo design and that of 99Food. This latest legal battle adds to the already contentious relationship between the two companies in Brazil, where they have been embroiled in three trademark disputes in the month of August alone.

Meituan has ambitious plans to invest $1 billion in Brazil over the next five years to bolster Keeta's presence, while Didi has already invested 500 million Brazilian reais in Sao Paulo to launch 99Food. Beyond food delivery, Didi aims to expand its services in Brazil to include transportation, delivery, and payment solutions. The rivalry for dominance in Brazil's food delivery market between these two giants is heating up significantly.
