In the Brazilian market, Meituan and Didi have frequently engaged in legal disputes, with cases revolving around issues such as "forced exclusivity" and "trademark infringement." Merely three months after their official entry into Brazil, these two companies have already seen multiple clashes in court. On August 18, Didi's Brazilian subsidiary, 99Food, accused Meituan's Keeta of trademark infringement and unfair competition. Previously, Keeta had also initiated legal action against 99Food, alleging that 99Food signed exclusive agreements with merchants by offering substantial prepayments, effectively barring Keeta from entering the market. The rivalry between the two companies is intense, prompting frequent judicial interventions.
