Due to the impact of heavy rainfall, the risk of geological disasters has escalated in northern Shanxi, central Inner Mongolia, and northern Shaanxi. Consequently, the Ministry of Natural Resources activated a Level IV response for geological disaster prevention at 17:00 on August 18. This directive mandates that the relevant regional departments of natural resources heighten their risk awareness, reinforce bottom-line thinking, intensify patrols and investigations, strengthen monitoring and early warning systems, and improve emergency response capabilities. These measures aim to effectively prepare for and respond to geological disasters during periods of heavy rainfall, thereby ensuring the safety of people's lives and property.
