The court in São Paulo, Brazil, has recently received and officially accepted a lawsuit filed by 99, the Brazilian subsidiary of Didi Chuxing, against Keeta, the food delivery brand operated by Meituan. The lawsuit alleges trademark infringement and unfair competition. 99 accuses Keeta of mimicking the design of its food delivery app, 99Food, in terms of color scheme, graphics, and fonts, causing confusion among consumers. Consequently, 99 is requesting the court to mandate Keeta to alter its logo. In response, Keeta contends that its parent company, Meituan, has been using the current color palette and logo for 14 consecutive years, while Keeta itself has employed the same design for three years, denying any infringement. Notably, Keeta had previously counter-sued 99Food, accusing it of imposing restrictions on restaurants from cooperating with multiple platforms.
