Effective September, Apple has announced an unprecedented move to offer in-store repair services for select iPad models, marking a departure from its earlier policy of replacing entire devices. Currently, official repair costs are notably high, with the price for an iPad A16 touchscreen module reaching $200, in stark contrast to third-party repairs that cost only $50. For the iPad Pro 13, the cost of replacing the screen assembly amounts to an astonishing 57% of the price of a new model. In response to these concerns, Apple will introduce modular repair services at approximately 30 Apple Stores across the United States, accompanied by transparent pricing for repairs, aligning with the existing repair processes for iPhones and Macs.
