In fiscal year 2025, Microsoft's Azure revenue surpassed the $75 billion mark, signifying a robust 34% year-on-year growth. However, Azure still trails behind Amazon Web Services (AWS), which generated approximately $108 billion in cloud revenue in 2024 and is projected to hit $117 billion in 2025, maintaining a lead of approximately $42 billion over Azure. Google Cloud, on the other hand, reported revenue of $13.6 billion in the second quarter of 2025 and over $54 billion for the entire year, with a growth rate of 32%. Despite the competition, Microsoft affirmed that Azure demand remains strong and is anticipated to continue its upward trajectory in the upcoming quarters. To further expand its capabilities, Microsoft plans to invest over $30 billion in the next quarter for the expansion of its data centers.
