Recently, the National Data Expert Advisory Committee convened its inaugural plenary session of 2025 in Beijing, addressing pivotal topics such as the construction goals for Digital China during the 15th Five-Year Plan period, the development and utilization of public data, the role of data in supporting AI industry growth, and the establishment of trusted data environments. Committee members emphasized the importance of fostering a digital and intelligent industrial ecosystem, enhancing the data resource system, fostering government-enterprise collaboration in data operations, and establishing an inclusive data service platform. Furthermore, they advocated for accelerating the development of data circulation infrastructure and high-quality AI datasets, along with enhancing the international alignment of data regulations. Exploring models for data value assessment, pricing, trading, and revenue distribution, while ensuring the controllability and traceability throughout the data usage chain, were also highlighted as key areas of focus.
