The Cyberspace Administration of China has published the third edition of the "Guidance on Data Export Security Assessment Declaration," streamlining the documentation necessary for data processors to declare data export security assessments. This update also clarifies the prerequisites, procedures, and necessary materials for requesting an extension of the validity period for assessment results. Data processors that intend to share significant data and personal information with overseas entities must declare a data export security assessment if they meet the specified criteria. Eligible applicants can apply for an extension up to 60 days before the expiration of the current assessment's validity period.
